On March 10, 2021 the Department of State announced the reopening of the CAM program. CAM is a program for certain eligible parents and children who immigrated from El Salvador, Guatemala, or Honduras. A parent can help their child qualify for CAM if they are over the age of 18, are legally residing in the US, and are from one of the three countries listed above. Their child qualifies if they are under the age of 21, unmarried, and also from one of those three countries. CAM will reopen in two phases: the first is reaching out to parents who submitted an Affidavit of Relationship before the CAM program ended to initiate a CAM case. During phase one, USCIS will NOT be accepting new CAM applications. Phase two has not been announced yet.
El 10 de mayo de 2021, el Departamento de Estado anunció la reapertura del programa CAM (Menores de América Central). CAM es un programa para ciertos menores elegibles quienes vinieron a los EEUU desde El Salvador, Guatemala, o Honduras. Los padres pueden ayudar a sus hijos a calificar para CAM si el padre tiene más de 18 años, están en los EEUU legalmente, y si vienen de estos tres países mencionados. Un hijo puede calificar para CAM si tienen menos de 21 años, no están casados, y vienen de unos de estos tres países. CAM va a abrir en dos etapas. La primera etapa es contactar a los padres quienes sometieron una Declaración de Relaciones antes de que CAM terminó en agosto de 2017. En este momento, el gobierno NO está aceptando nuevas aplicaciones de CAM. No han anunciado la segunda etapa todavía.
