Texas federal court Judge Hanen recently challenged the legality of Deferred Action For Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Due to this filing, all current INITIAL DACA applications are on hold. If you have filed your very first DACA application, but have not been approved yet, your petition is not being processed further at this point in time. This court filing DOES NOT automatically put Dreamers at further risk of deportation. This decision by the Texas court WILL BE APPEALED by the Biden Administration. We will continue to keep you updated as we receive news about the appeal process.
Any CURRENT DACA recipients are NOT affected by this decision. DACA RENEWALS are still being accepted and processed. If your DACA is going to expire within the next six months, please call our office at (970)455-1013 to begin your renewal process.
Our firm stands strong with Dreamers and we will continue to fight for their rights in the US. We look towards the Dream Act to provide a permanent path to citizenship for DACA recipients and call on Congress to pass this legislation as soon as possible.
